Louisiana-Pacific Corporation-Tomahawk Plant is one of 62 manufacturing sites throughout the United States, Canada, Ireland, and Chile. Employing 124 workers, the Tomahawk plant manufactures engineered panel siding, soffit and concrete form board.

The management of Louisiana-Pacific Corporation-Tomahawk Plant believes it is essential to assure a safe and health workplace for all employees. The company's policy is that accident prevention shall be considered of primary importance in all phases of operation and administration. It is the basic requirement that each supervisor and department manager make the safety of all employees an integral part of his or her management functions. It is equally the duty of each employee to accept and follow established safety regulations and procedures. It is the company's objective to prevent the occurrence of any work-related injury through developing, implementing, training, and enforcing its safety policies, programs and procedures.

As an OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Merit Site, the company is required to evaluate its safety program and processes annually. Company employees are trained annually on all required OSHA training topics through lectures, hands-on-training, and safety videos. All training material is evaluated and updated as needed to comply with OSHA regulation changes, to maintain employee interest, and to accommodate corporate safety directives. When Tomahawk employees achieve a major safety success, they are recognized for their accomplishments with special awards and recognition.
