SERVICES > INJURY DATA: PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

Changes in the office workplace have created new health and safety concerns. The never changing hazards of slippery floors and open file drawers are now accompanied by poor lighting, noise, ergonomic stress, eye strain and repetitive motion problems. Despite technology, falls are still the most common disabling accident. Office safety plans should include reminders to close file drawers, wipe up coffee spills, and use a step stool to reach files on upper shelves.

Statistics for Wisconsin for the past three years on the cause and nature of injuries and which body parts are affected are available below. These statistics are based on claim data entered in the WC Division’s injury database for the years 1999, 2000 and 2001.
